I first entered the travel world in the last century, setting up a US based ski company with a friend, back when skis were long and thin and a helmet was a woolly hat.   I am passionate about travel; customer service; attention to detail; honesty and gaining people’s trust, it’s what makes me tick.

Since then I have worked in the financial world mainly getting new customers for various different things.  In these roles I organised many corporate, family and personal holidays; it is something that I am good at and enjoy hence starting Barney Buik Travel.

I thrive on getting to know the wants and needs of my clients. Researching and organising the perfect holiday is a passion and the perfect outcome is essential.

I do still have a deep love for the mountains, but luckily my horizons have been broadened since then, be it an adventure with some beach tagged on or a villa for a multi family escape, or a safari, or a short cultural break…

I have a passion for local cultures wherever they exist.   I love food and drink be it cooking for friends, seeking out local markets or experiencing the local delicacies; It could be that mountain restaurant, the best beach bar, fine dining, a hidden local gem down a side alley, street food in a thriving market, a white clothed table set up in a field, a perfect sandwich after whitewater rafting or a hike, a sundowner at …
